How it all started

I was first introduced to quilling by Prachie Aunty +prachie shah when she bought a quilling set for her daughter and my dearest friend Ashni. Prachie Aunty is an artist and she showed us how to quill a flower and few more shapes and we were immediately fascinated by the beauty of quilling. Thank you Prachie Aunty for your help and for introducing me to this fine art.

I came home and told my mom about quilling and showed her the flower I had made. She was very happy to see my first quilling. She bought me some quilling strips and a roller and I made a lot of flowers. Seeing me work my Dadi (Grandma) got me my own quilling set as a return gift for her 62nd Birthday. It was a kit quilling kit from 'Shilpi' and it had an extra roller for fine quilling, three hundreds paper strips, glue and comb along with instruction booklet with pictures and instructions to make them. I was thrilled.

I wanted to learn to make all the things in the book and so I went to Khushbu Bhabhi to learn to quill some more shapes. We spent a couple of afternoons making cut flowers, rabbit, butterflies and snails. It was wonderful and My special thanks to Khushbu Bhabhi for teaching me how to quill beautiful shapes and making me believe that I can quill on my own.
