When Dad visited USA last year Payal Aunty sent me a loom and some bands. I had never used one but I was so thrilled. My friend Raashi knew how to make 'Fish Tail' my very first design and she taught me how to use the loom.

Practice makes you perfect... no doubt now! I have spent hours trying to practice making roses. I loved it and every-time it kept getting better and better. I tried #quilling with every different colors in my stock and now the clip-collection looks like my very own #Rose Garden. Hope you like it. If you do then please share it. Papa gave me 10/10!

I learnt from comments on my posts that Sara and Sanaa +HETAL ADUKIA love hair-bands. So I though of making some for my friends at school. 

Dad bought me yet another book called "Beautiful Quilling : Step-by-Step" and it helped me learn a nice way to make flowers with a different color center. I used 3mm strips for center roll and a 5mm fringed paper for the petals. Made some small flowers and leaves and glued them on colorful hair-bands that mom got from the shop in the city. These took one full day and a lot of help from mom but came out real nice and pretty! I love them.

Then I sat down to make some broad ones by combining all different quilling patterns that I learnt over the past two weeks. I have now packed them for my stall. I now have the largest collection of accessories in entire Vadodara!

Quilling Combed and Folded Rose Ear-Rings

Quilled Ear-Rings using Combing Technique

I enjoyed Quilling yesterday till late in the night with Mom & Dad. I made some stylish ear-rings using the Pick Comb that I got. With my new Quilling-Kit I can make things faster and neater. Dad says I am very messy with the glue and so he helped me put them together while Mom helped me put the rings and some embellishments. Don't they look really cool!

A Rose was something I never thought can be made from Quilling Paper. I learnt it from the book 'Paper Quilling - For The First Time - Alli Bartkowski". The book showed me step-by-step with pictures how to quill a Rose. I used wide strips and 90 degree folds to quill these roses. It was difficult and I wasted five papers before I could make a decent one. But I am happy I could make it myself. Thank you Daddy for the fab pictures of my work!

These Tulip Ear-Rings look very pretty with traditional as well as urban dressing. I did a lot of work over the last two days with Mom and Dad as my school starts from tomorrow and I will not have much time to quill.

Mom gave these ear-rings their name from the flowers I love - 'Tuplis', but more importantly from the way they are made. You may have noticed the Beehive on the flower, though it got hidden by the gemstone. I will make some more bigger ones.

Two days back as someone delivered packages from  #Amazon, #Flipcart and #Craftgully. I jumped  with joy and surprise as it contained lovely Quilling Books and a brand new #Quilling-Kit including a Template Board, Crimpler and Pick Comb which I needed for some more fine work. Thank You Dad & Mom!

A Gift from Mom

This is how my #Quilling-Kit looks like. I now have Paper Punches, Slotted and Needle Tools, Fine Tipped Glue Applicator, Hard Board with Pins, Craft Papers and also Graduated / Two Tone Papers for impressive designs. I can almost quill all possible designs.

I have made some stylish ear-rings using the Pick Comb and you will see them soon. The books are awesome and Dad tells me that #Alli Bartkowski is one of the finest Quilling Artist in the world. Did you know that French and Italian Nuns and Monks used this Paper Filigree Art for decorating Frames and holy books, This is amazing!

I am working on my first stall which my mom has secured in my annual school fair. Here are some hair bands I made using quilling strips. You can do it too and I say once again, its easier than it looks. 

I can create beautiful flowers using color combinations of your choice. I can use colors matching the shades of my dress to add to its look!   

For small kids you could quill some nice butterfly or teddy which can add a smile to their face. I made one and it makes my sister's boring black hair-band look so cute and she looks even cuter when she wears it!
